The Markets in Charente Maritime

THE MARKETS, COLOURFUL TO LOOK AT AND A GOURMET STOP

The markets are a real institution. They are full of local products, vegetables, fruit and seafood. It is also a place to exchange recipes. Traditional local producers' markets, seasonal or even night markets create a friendly atmosphere. In the Charente-Maritime, there are 125 regular markets, which can be considered gourmet stops. Most of the markets take place every day, other ones one or twice a week. Walking amongst the stalls and choosing which products to buy is immersing yourself in part of French culture and stimulates your senses.
