- The Plage des Huttes is accessible by bike, via the cycle path. You can swim there, there is sand in some places and pebbles as you approach the cliffs. It is supervised in summer and appreciated by windsurfers and board sports enthusiasts in general. It is not far from the Chassiron lighthouse, it is the last beach before the northern tip of the island.

A beautiful picturesque long sandy beach that ticks all the boxes. We got there nice and early for easy parking, about 11am and spent the day there. The sea temperature is perfect, nice and cold to cool off from the blazing sunshine. Earlier in the day it’s nice and clear too before the crowds arrive. Parking’s still possible even when peak time unlike some of the other beaches. Great sandy beach for the kids. Decent toilets, but bring loo roll just in case. The bar’s okay. Food offer’s really basic so rather do what we did and spend €40 on stuff we could’ve picked up from the supermarche for half the price. Decent wine selection though, kid’s drinks, ice cream and draft beer.

I'd give this 3.5 stars, if i could - for the reasons given below. Good points: - Has a toilet, which is quite rare in my experience. - Has a bar / shop next to the surf school and near the toilet. - Free parking. This is an important point. - Around 100m walk to the beach (depending on where you park of course). Not so good points (in my opinion): - If you're a surfer, this isnt the ideal beach, due to the lifeguard rules and limited areas of good waves (when I visited). Only body boards are allowed within 50m of the supervised area (within the yellow and red flags). I realise that this is for safety reasons during busy times. The lifeguards then move the flags to cover the area of best waves. They told me that its best to use a beach further down for surfing. - There's a lot of various sized stones all over the beach. So, my kids hurt their feet while playing, walking around and when you're in the water - its not great for adults either. The beaches further south of the same strip have less stones but no toilets. In conclusion, if you're not surfing and don't have young kids - this is a great beach (maybe 5 stars), as others have said. The next day I went to 'Plage de Chaucre' and very good but no toilet.

Great beach. Tide only goes out about 10m (unlike others around). Sand with some stones. Just amazing.
