Lovely old buildings in a great location, but a bit quirky. Our kids room was right the other side of the hotel, response was that booking.com didn’t tell them which is odd; extractor fan was running all the time by our bed, but they disconnected on request the next day, and had to make a special request so towel rails to dry togs would work, owner likes to keep the off apparently which we felt was odd, but they did activate them once pushed. On the flip side, breakfast service was great. One night bar lady said bar was shut at 945pm but on pushing a little served us, and then others drinks .. again, a little odd!

We love visiting Ile de Re and la Barronie is perfect. Almost a chateau in the middle of the pretty harbour town of St Martin, central location and an easy base to walk or cycle everywhere from. Gardens to relax in, pool, spa and much more. Rooms are "v French" and will take you back to the good old days before glass and chrome

My wife and I have visited La Baronnie many times. The Team at La Baronnie are very friendly and professional. The Hotel is tastefully decorated and has a Country House feel which we enjoy. The rooms we have stayed in are large and nicely decorated, some have air conditioning. The breakfast is buffet style with hot and cold food, there is indoor and outdoor seating. The Hotel has its own car park which is convenient, other Hotels we have stayed in have remote car parks so you need to arrange ahead of time. The Hotel has a new outdoor pool, we are looking forward to this on our next visit in July.

Top hotel in a superb location with impeccable service and stylish rooms. Only slight negative was that service at breakfast a bit indifferent - just not enough staff to keep up with guest requests.
