  We came here with our nugget camper bus in the off season (17 June) and only wanted to stay a night or two to see La Rochelle. We were given a spacious pitch near the entrance and near the very large pool which wasn’t a problem as it closes at 8pm - not much of a view as the pool area is surrounded by a large wall but we weren’t planning on being in the site much so we’re perfectly happy. I disagree with some of the reviews that the washrooms need some love. For French campsites standards they were very reasonable with shelves and places to hang clothes while showering. There was also loo roll which is v unusual in the area. When we returned to the campsite some people were playing very loud jungle music although it was around 10pm. There was a downpour which meant the sounds were more muffled or the rain drowned the sound out? Anyhow there were a lot of youths - dunno how else to describe them as school holidays are not on - wandering about the site at all hours shouting and between 3 and 4am they broke into the pool area and used the slides and pools while shrieking and laughing for about an hour. It was utterly maddening and inconsiderate. We got literally no sleep despite being off season. Am astounded by how inconsiderate these kids were, gutted that they didn’t have a terrible accident on the slides at night, and feel there should be someone on-site to make sure this kind of behavior isn’t accepted. The campsite would have been fine for a night and the choices near to La Rochelle are somewhat limited but after this we moved to the one in l’Homeau (much more pleasant) as we couldn’t bear this anymore.

  Seemed ok to begin with. Relatively decent facilities and ok pitches. Would have got 3 or probably 4 stars if it had stayed that way. However our second night was a nightmare. There was a party in the pool/restaurant area with insanely loud banging music and was still going by the time we gave up and left (which was like leaving a prison compound) with our child in tears at 1am. Avoid.

  not a positive experience with the lifeguard The lifeguard does not consistently apply the rules for men's swimming trunks. I was sent back because I had a "too wide" swimsuit (no brand and clearly no sports shorts). I had to buy correct swimsuit at the reception. The tone in which this was communicated was also "aggressive". When returning, several men walk in wide swimming trunks. Which look like sports pants. After this, men also came in with a "sports pants" Unfortunately a heavy minus. Point for improvement
