The BOUYER family has cultivated oysters on the Ile de Ré for five generations.

It was in 2016 that Karine and her husband David took over the family business and created "Huîtres et ma Ré", thus perpetuating this passion for the sea and oyster farming.

The Ile de Ré enjoys an exceptional environment for oyster farming and produces around 10,000 tonnes per year.

Oyster farming has developed mainly on the north coast of the island of Ré, and in particular in Rivedoux-Plage, the cradle of modern oyster farming, a town where "Huîtres et ma Ré" are installed, a company that cultivates its oysters only on the Île de Ré.

The bay of Rivedoux, an exceptional site that can be seen from the middle of the curve of the Ile de Ré bridge, with its welcoming village between two immense sandy beaches.
