    • Family campsite of 53 pitches, set within a peaceful and wooded environment, The Camping de la Gères*** is located on the edge of "La Gères" river, and is a 500 meters walk from Surgères town centre across the castel park.

      Choose the accommodation to suit your budget and preferences: Mobile home, Bungalow, Chalet, Lodge tent or Tepee. Traditional campers can choose one of our spacious, shady pitches for a holiday close to nature !

      The campsite is ideally located at 30 minutes from La Rochelle, Rochefort, Marais Poitevin and the beaches on the Atlantic coast.

    The owners are very welcoming and the facilities have almost everything you'd expect. No toilet paper though which is a bit odd. The bar closes at midnight and apparently there is no curfew on noise after this. Adults and children alike shouting/laughing/partying into the early morning made the stay pretty unenjoyable. If the gate wasn't locked I would have left to go somewhere else.

    Sanitaires excellent. Pitch was hard standing with dry grass and no privacy. Electric didn't work for us, was fine for others though. Small pool. Friendly owners until issue with electric

    Stopped here for 3 nights, in our Motorhome very happy we did, nice clean facilities, nice and quiet ( end of May) lovely town in walking distance, nice place for a stop over of 2 or 3 nights, very friendly, we would use this site again, it is ACSI but was not in the book, bar cafe and pool not open yet. A mix of chalets and camping areas, good size pitch, very good for a municipal.
