A diving center in the heart of the port of La Côtinière

IØ Plongée is a diving center located in the port of La Côtinière, on the Île d'Oléron, in Charente-Maritime. Situated in one of the island's busiest fishing ports, the center benefits from direct access to the sailing areas leading to the main dive sites around Oléron. This location allows for the organization of efficient sea trips, adapted to ocean conditions and the divers' skill levels.

The center welcomes a diverse public, including both beginner and experienced divers, in a structured, safe environment focused on discovering the local marine environment.

Introductory scuba diving sessions accessible to all

The introductory dive offered by IØ Plongée is for people wishing to discover scuba diving in Oléron for the first time. This activity allows you to experience breathing underwater and the initial sensations of immersion, under the supervision of a certified instructor.

The introductory dive takes place in conditions adapted to beginners, with particular attention paid to safety and comfort. It provides a gradual introduction to the underwater environment, encouraging observation of the marine flora and fauna present around the island.

      Diving courses for all levels

The center offers diving courses that allow participants to acquire or strengthen the skills necessary for independent and controlled diving. These certification courses, accessible at different levels, cover essential techniques such as equipment management, buoyancy control, underwater communication, and safety procedures.

The training courses are designed for both beginner divers and those wishing to improve their skills during their stay on the Île d'Oléron. The instruction is structured and conforms to recognized standards, with a teaching approach focused on understanding the marine environment.

Exploration of the seabed and shipwrecks

The underwater exploration trips organized by IØ Plongée allow you to discover the diversity of the seabed around Oléron. Divers can explore rocky bottoms, drop-offs and shipwrecks, which shelter marine biodiversity characteristic of the Atlantic coast.

Each outing is planned according to weather conditions, currents and the level of the participants, in order to ensure a suitable and safe exploration.

Responsible diving and respect for the environment

Responsible diving is an integral part of the center's approach. IØ Plongée raises awareness among divers about the preservation of the seabed, encouraging respectful behavior: buoyancy control, no disturbance to marine life, and minimizing human impact.

This approach aims to sustainably protect the marine ecosystems of the island of Oléron, while allowing them to be observed under good conditions.
