We stayed at this hotel for a week and I think it was one of the best holiday stays I've ever had. The hotel itself is very nice and the courtyard gives it a communal atmosphere - I think summer here would be very nice. The hotel provides a swimming pool with spa and hammam, and the bar is very comfortable, with incredibly nice and attentive staff. The room we stayed in was very clean and spacous and felt like it was recently renovated. The position of the hotel is very close to the beach as well as some great restaurants and patisseries. Over all I would highly recommend the Grand Hotel Des Bains as one of the best stays in La Rochelle!

A delightful hotel. I had a nice spacious and tastefully decorated room overlooking the pretty courtyard. The place was very clean, the staff friendly, the little bar pleasant and the location is perfect, near the beach and the main shopping street. The only negative was the broken safe in the room. However I was able to use the reception safe.

Beautiful and very luxury modern, I cannot believe this is the 2 star hotel, it was definitely best 2 star hotel I have ever been! There is amazing courtyard where you can have outdoor breakfast, nice and luxury renovated rooms and very kind staff. Free parking 100 meters far from the hotel near the beach. Absolutely recommend. Staff at hotel reception does not speak a word English, but after few pantomime minutes everything kind and ok. Learn yourself couple of french words!
