L'escale is Martrou's dining bar set up in the old post house called "Auberge de la Malle-Poste" in Échillais, a stone's throw from the Pont du Transbordeur opposite Rochefort.

A true haven of peace on the banks of the Charente, this beautifully restored 18 ^th century building welcomes you on the terrace or in its warm rooms to recharge your batteries with friends, family or alone, whether you pass by on foot, by bike or by car.

L'escale offers drinks and seasonal snacks made from fresh, local produce (cheese, cold meats and vegetarian platters, seasonal dishes, sweet and savory waffles, homemade desserts).

Cultural and thematic events are scheduled throughout the year (exhibitions, concerts, games, etc.).
