La Ferme des Baleines opens the doors of aquaculture to the general public. While adults enjoy discovering aquaculture and oyster farming know-how, children are delighted to touch and handle the animals in the farm's nursery: oysters and clams! And who knows, they might even offer to help you care for them!
On 35 hectares of oyster beds, La Ferme des Baleines practices mixed aquaculture: production and refining of oyster beds, production of sea lettuce and samphire using organic farming, breeding of imperial shrimp, clams and sea bream.
Beyond sharing their know-how and knowledge on the breeding and refining of shellfish and crustaceans or the production and harvesting of organic sea lettuce and samphire, they invite you to live an immersive Rétais experience at La Ferme des Baleines!
In season, from Easter to All Saints' Day, during a guided tour, visitors can taste oysters and other products (imperial shrimp, trout, seaweed, etc.) directly on site. In the hut at the edge of the oyster beds, fresh from the water, the award-winning oysters will delight the taste buds!
