    • A new address in La Rochelle opened by Chef Carlos Foito and his associates, KOYA showcases NIKKEI cuisine, which combines Japanese and Peruvian influences to make it one of the most varied, inventive and fine in the world. In the heart of La Rochelle, travel through flavors and know-how. Thanks to a rich and intense career with the greatest starred Chefs which will notably lead him to UMAMI and IZUMI, Carlos is refining his techniques and forging an original culinary identity.

In 2018 he arrived in La Rochelle where he joined long-time friends with whom he shared the love of flavors and the addiction to the astonishment of the taste buds. Together they open the Ginger where they offer creative, healthy and varied cuisine of multicultural inspiration.

It is to go further in the luxuriance of possibilities offered by the Nikkei cuisine and especially to share this extraordinary cuisine with their friends and customers that the idea of KOYA imposed itself on Carlos and his associates.

Food was ok on average. Some things were really good, for example the beef tacos - they were amazing. What was really disappointing was the steak (boeuf) Very thickly cut, super tough, some pieces I couldn't chew but had to spit out. The Tuna Tataki was good, the spinach with truffle was good and the desert also.

Fusion food restaurant with really interesting dishes and flavours. They have a lunch menu with reasonable prices (if not, prices can be expensive). The staff was very friendly ! A really good choice to have lunch in a calm street next to city downtown.
