Oak Estate The Charente Maritime producers in Saint-Palais-de-Phiolin

Creator of spirits for more than 150 years, the Oak Estate is a family house founded in 1865 by Jean Baptiste Doussoux.

Oak Estate is located in Saint-Palais-de-Phiolin, in the heart of Charente Maritime in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region. You will discover the richness of a terroir and the history that our estate carries through the generations. The story begins in 1865 when Jean-Baptiste Doussoux bought his first still, determined to distil his wines and raise his Cognac brandies in order to control their quality and authenticity.

Distillation, somewhat abandoned during the war, was restarted by Jean Doussoux, heir to the estate, in 1946. The first Pineau of Charentes will be produced from 1947.

It is in this dynamic that in 1993, Jean Doussoux and Jean-Marie Baillif join forces and create the brand as we know it today, “Oak Estate”. They also develop the vineyard and diversify the already very rich grape varieties. The vineyard covers just over 90 hectares. On the strength of this diversity, we apply ourselves to imagining new, innovative products that are more revealing of the richness of our field.

Over the generations, we have always sought to express the brilliance of our territory through intense spirits. Jean-Marie Baillif works today with his children in order to perpetuate the history and the know-how of the Oak Estate.
