- The Best Western Royan Océan hotel (formerly Hôtel Foncillon) is located 50 meters from the beach and a 5-minute walk from the city center, opposite the Palais des Congrès and the ferry pier.
  
  All rooms are air-conditioned. They are equipped with flat screen TV, courtesy tray (hot drinks at will), free WIFI by optical fiber. The superior rooms offer a panoramic view of the Bay of Royan. They are also all equipped with a minibar and a Nespresso coffee machine.
  
  The reception is open 24 hours a day, with a night porter present.
  
  The seminar room for up to 15 people located on the top floor with terrace is fully equipped for meetings.
  
  Thanks to its location, you can enjoy a car-free holiday.

Visiting for a birthday, we decided to stay at this hotel. Ideally located with a sea view from the 4th floor, the large room could use some updating (carpet). The staff were excellent.

Following a problem at the Thalazur Hotel, I was transferred to this establishment with the promise of a “suite.” The reality was quite different: it was clearly a hastily converted seminar room (as indicated in the description displayed in the elevator). Upon arrival, the room was dimly lit. The chairs were still upside down, stacked and stored against the wall behind a curtain, right in the middle of what was supposed to be the lounge. The whole thing immediately gave the impression of a conference space, absolutely not hotel accommodation. There was even an area equipped with an overhead projector in the “lounge,” which clearly confirmed the original purpose of the space. There was no warm atmosphere, no amenities worthy of a suite. We found ourselves in a large, empty, and cold room, without the comfort expected for this type of service. A technical closet with exposed cables and equipment stored inside was visible. Written markings, including the word "private" on the room door, reinforce the impression of a purely functional space. Some doors in the "suite" are even locked, suggesting that the entire area isn't accessible. The restrooms are located in a corridor, with signage typical of a communal space ("men's/women's restrooms," "emergency exit"), confirming that this is a space intended for seminars or meetings, not for overnight guests. I am very disappointed by this complete lack of transparency. Presenting a meeting room as a "suite" is misleading and falls far short of expected standards, especially for guests transferred from a hotel like Thalazur. I do not recommend this experience.
