Une balade autour de trois châteaux : Taillebourg, la Forêt et le Péré. Le premier, dominant la Charente, a réuni jusqu’à 37 paroisses. Maintes fois pris et repris durant la guerre de cent ans il fut démoli au XVe siècle.
