Built on the banks of the Charente River during the reign of Louis XV, the Château de Panloy still belongs to the same family. This is how it has been able to preserve all its period furniture and numerous stylish objects, witnesses to life in bygone days.
You will therefore discover a very authentic atmosphere as you explore the various spaces open to the public during the guided tours organized daily (tour duration: 1 hour ).

In the main hall, virtually nothing has changed since the castle was built. The beautiful Beauvais tapestries are still in their place.
In the dining room with Louis XV woodwork and period overmantels, a rich table is adorned with Saint-Louis crystal.
You will browse the gallery of 80 trophies.
Throughout the visit, many unusual objects will capture your attention.
A room with 19th-century furnishings overlooks the Charente and offers unexpected spaces.
In the attic, you will discover the castle's timber frames in a different atmosphere, that of the lives of the servants.

Located between Saintes and La Rochelle, the Château de Panloy welcomes you to its two guest rooms. Decorated and furnished in their respective periods, the authentic charm of the rooms will ensure a romantic weekend getaway. A warm welcome and a rustic atmosphere await you at the Château de Panloy for an unforgettable stay.

The guest rooms are open from April 1st to October 30th. The soul of the house has remained intact despite the passage of time. The castle, still inhabited by descendants, has been preserved in its original state, and restoration work is currently underway.

From the start of the 2026 season, Château de Panloy will also offer two gîtes, located on the site of the former farm, adjacent to the château. These accommodations will sleep up to 13 people in total and will offer a unique immersion in the heart of the estate, for a timeless stay.

Furthermore, the Château de Panloy offers educational activities specially designed for schools, leisure centers, and youth organizations, through several themed tours : the animals of the estate, the château itself, life in bygone days, and the coat of arms. These fun and educational tours allow children to learn while discovering a magnificent estate steeped in history.

Ideally located in a charming village on the banks of the river in the heart of Charente-Maritime, you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside while remaining close to everything. Lovers of heritage, nature, or gastronomy are sure to find something to their liking.

We visited the castle and grounds and didn't book a room or any special services. A very young guide started the season with lots of energy and enthusiasm. The welcome was very pleasant and the setting was idyllic. We had a truly lovely afternoon with my friends. A must-see!

My daughter, my mother, and I came to participate in the scavenger hunt, and as every year, we had a wonderful time. It's a place I've been particularly fond of since childhood, and I love rediscovering its simple, calm, and authentic atmosphere. The activities offered are intentionally accessible: riddles in the various rooms of the castle, the dovecote, the bakery… Nothing sophisticated, but that's precisely what makes the experience so charming. The children really enjoy themselves, and that's what matters most. The little activities like the skittles game, archery, or the complimentary afternoon snack (simple and full of nostalgia) contribute to this family atmosphere that's hard to find these days. I think it's important to highlight the dedication of the staff, often young people, who take the time to organize these events. Just because it's simple doesn't mean it's not high quality; quite the opposite. There is genuine sincerity in what is being offered, and that deserves to be encouraged rather than criticized. Thank you for continuing to organize these kinds of events for children and families. We will gladly return, as we do every year.
