Paléosite Museums in Saint-Césaire

The Paleosite is the first interpretation center in Europe and one of the most modern in the world thanks to contemporary technologies.

The program for your visit includes:
An indoor circuit in a 2000 m² air-conditioned space, including three cinemas and two interactive rooms (projections on large screens, virtual reality, quizzes, comparison workshops, life-size prehistoric animals…).

A shaded outdoor trail in an 18-hectare natural setting features reconstructions of prehistoric habitats and daily activities: fire-making, flint knapping, cave art, and spear-throwing. Participatory workshops are offered on certain days; reservations are required at reception. These include clay modeling, daily archaeological digs, a "day in the life of a Neanderthal," and a hunter's trail.

Not forgetting the guided tour of the archaeological site, an authentic place of discovery, which comes back into the spotlight every summer with the excavation campaigns.
