The Charras Canal connects the Devise river to the Charente river. It makes it possible to channel the waters of the marshes stretching between Surgères and Rochefort. It flows into the Charente, in the town of Saint-Laurent-de-la Prée. It is a non-navigable canal but a hiking route runs along it for 11 km, starting from Landrais. You will cross wetlands, with marshes and ponds, interspersed with groves and agricultural meadows. You will pass by the natural site of the Cabane de Minus. This hunting reserve is a renowned ornithological observation spot.
