    • The Paléosite is the first interpretation center in Europe and one of the most modern in the world thanks to contemporary technologies. Come and experience Prehistory as if you were there in the footsteps of Pierrette the Neanderthal.

      On the program for your visit :
      An indoor tour
      in an air-conditioned space of 2000 m², including five fun rooms and two interactive rooms (projections on large screens, virtual reality, quiz, comparison workshops, life-size prehistoric animals, etc.).
      A shaded outdoor route in an 18 hectare natural site with reconstructions of prehistoric habitats and daily entertainment : Lighting the fire, cutting flint, rock art, rocket fire. Participatory workshops are offered on certain days by reservation at reception; clay modeling, archaeological excavations every morning, live my Neanderthal life, hunter's journey...
      Without forgetting the guided tour of the archaeological site, authentic place of discovery, which returns every summer to the fore with the campaigns excavations planned this year from mid-June to mid-July 2020; you can then observe the archaeologists in action ! A real interactive immersion in the heart of Prehistory for young and old.

      The average length of visit is 3 to 4 hours.

      The Paléosite welcomes you from April 1 to November 15 from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm.
      Open every day during school holidays (all areas).

      Closed Mondays and Tuesdays outside school holidays
      In October : only open on Weekends and every day during the All Saints school holidays.

      * Ticket office closed from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

    I had imagined the site much + large with many + prehistoric scenes. But the workshops are super nice. We learned to make a fire thanks to a facilitator full of knowledge and a desire to share. The reproductions at the life-size entrance are impressive 😍 My niece loved it. And in addition, dogs are accepted.
