The Donkeys of Oleron Nature activities with donkeys in Saint-Georges d’Oléron

Located in the commune of St Georges d'Oléron, La Ferme aux Ânes is a place to discover with family or friends.

From self-guided tours to donkey rides, all our activities are adapted to the different audiences we welcome.
From annual boarding to welcoming the public with disabilities, free visits to the educational farm and beach cleaning assisted by donkeys, this structure promotes the donkey species in all its virtues on a daily basis.

Self-guided tour of the educational farm with pig feeding and quizzes to complete throughout your visit!

On your own, you'll follow a marked trail through our parks, discovering the farm animals. As breeders primarily of local breeds, you'll get close to Poitou donkeys and Poitou mules, among others. The educational farm has expanded to include our Maraîchin beef, our Bordelaise cow, Gascon pigs, Poitou goats and white Poitou geese, Marans and Pictave chickens, as well as our rabbits and goats.

Other species such as guinea pigs, Indian runners, Muscovy ducks, dwarf lop rabbits as well as our 25 common donkeys will also be on your tour route.

Tour price:

• €4.50/person, €3.50 for children under 12, and free for children under 3.

Handi'âne

If your child has a disability, book the "Handi'âne" activity. An instructor will guide you through an activity adapted to your child. Enjoy a timeless moment of complete connection with our animals, donkeys or other animals from our educational farm. A 30-minute session costs €35 for individuals. Group sessions are also available (information and rates upon request).
Our individual sessions are mainly based on awakening the senses, contact, the relationship with the animal, feeling its breathing, its smells, its movements... Depending on the disability, we can do carrying or motor skills exercises with the donkeys.

Family entertainment

An activity that allows families to enter the parks directly, accompanied by an activity leader!
Imagine a donkey just for you and your children for 1 hour (the donkey is the means of transport for children to go from park to park).
From a general tour of the farm to the feeding demonstration, you and your family will enjoy this personalized activity. Immerse yourselves in the animal enclosures (chicken coop, cows, sheep, donkeys, and mules) and feed the pigs.

Club Ane

For one hour, along with several families and a facilitator, you'll spend time with a donkey. During this activity, we'll reveal all the secrets of the donkey: how to talk to it, how to understand it, and how to give it the best grooming and cuddles. It's a way for us to introduce you to our little charges, who often have such a bad reputation, and to offer children of all ages a different perspective on donkeys.
