    • Golf School at the Oléron Golf Club: Learn to play golf from age 5 to 16 on the island of Oléron

In the heart of Île d'Oléron, the Golf School at the Oléron Golf Club allows children and teenagers to discover golf or improve their skills in a natural environment conducive to learning. Open to young people aged 5 to 16, it welcomes both beginners holding a club for the first time and young golfers wishing to refine their technique and progress towards competition.

Classes are held from September to June, on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. Instruction is provided by Vincent Hervé, a professional teacher, using a progressive approach adapted to each child's age, level, and pace.

A golf school accessible to beginners as well as experienced young players.

The Golf School at Golf Club d'Oléron places the enjoyment of playing at the heart of learning. The sessions allow children to progressively discover the different aspects of golf: technical skills, rules of the game, behavior on the course, and knowledge of the environment in which they are playing.

For young beginners, no immediate investment in equipment is necessary since golf equipment is loaned by the club. A simple way to discover the sport before buying your own.

Over the course of the sessions, the instruction also helps develop qualities that are useful far beyond the golf course: concentration, patience, listening skills, coordination, and self-control. Each young person can thus progress gradually while maintaining a fun approach to golf.

Progress at your own pace and discover competition

The golf lessons offered at the Oléron Golf Club are tailored to each child's level. Young golfers can progress through the flag system, which allows them to validate different stages in their golf learning.

For those who wish to go further, the school also supports preparation for and participation in departmental, league, and national golf competitions. The goal is to allow young people who want to do so to develop their individual performance while continuing to enjoy playing.

The teaching also places great emphasis on the values of golf : respect for other players, respect for the rules, care for equipment and attention to the natural environment of the course.

All students at the Golf School of the Oléron Golf Club are licensed with the French Golf Federation.

Golf lessons are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Children's golf lessons on Île d'Oléron take place on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, between 2 pm and 4:30 pm. Depending on the groups and levels, the sessions last between 1 and 1.5 hours.

The annual membership fee is €220. This includes, among other things, the loan of equipment for children who are beginners.

This year-long organization allows for regular practice and long-term progress. Children thus discover golf throughout the seasons and gradually become familiar with the course.

Discover the Île d'Oléron around the Golf Club

A day at the Oléron Golf Club can also be an opportunity to discover the landscapes and heritage of the largest French island on the Atlantic coast. Within a radius of approximately 30 kilometers, the Île d'Oléron offers numerous opportunities for walks or bike rides between beaches, forests, marshes, and villages.

Heritage enthusiasts can visit Le Château-d'Oléron and explore its citadel and port with its colorful old oyster huts. Further north, Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron is one of the island's main towns, with its shops and market where you can find fish, oysters, produce, and local specialties.

The oyster farming landscapes are also part of the territory's identity. The channels, marshes and huts allow visitors to discover the work of the oyster farmers of Île d'Oléron and to meet local producers.

For a refreshing ride, the numerous cycle paths on Île d'Oléron allow you to cross woods, marshes, and villages while easily reaching the coast. The beaches of the Atlantic coast, meanwhile, offer long stretches of sand perfect for walks.

Continuing north along the island, the exploration can lead to the Saint-Denis-d'Oléron area and the Chassiron lighthouse, surrounded by landscapes opening onto the ocean. Between maritime heritage, markets, villages, local producers, and natural spaces, the area around the Oléron Golf Club offers the perfect opportunity to combine a sporting activity with discovering the Île d'Oléron and the Charente-Maritime region.
