La Ferme Glacée Farm-made and artisanal ice cream in Surgères

The farm, located in Surgères, was established by the great-grandmother of the current owner. Sylvain Lalot is therefore the fourth generation. For over 120 years, cows have been processed at the Bel Air site. For the past thirty years, the increasing urbanization of Surgères has brought the farm very close to residential areas, making operations more challenging. Rather than succumb to this urban pressure, the decision was made to transform the farm's weakness into a strength by embracing processing.

A breeder of Pie Rouge cattle, the only breed in Charente-Maritime, chose to transform the milk into ice cream and frozen desserts. This is how La Ferme Glacée (The Iced Farm) came into being in 2022, after three years of project development.
Located in the heart of the town of Surgères, another specific feature of our development, we offer year-round ice cream by the scoop or to take away in various container sizes, frozen desserts, yule logs, and also to consume crepes and various milk drinks on site or to take away, all made on site, to order.

It was Sylvain LALOT's wife, Séverine, who previously had an activity outside the farm, who took up the challenge of creating the processing part and works to promote La Ferme Glacée.
