Great for the kids they loved exploring the castle and the grounds! Plenty of medieval type games to entertain them. A small maze made from maize. There is also a quiz to do answering questions as you go around. The English version of this just didn't make sense pity for the kids as it was quite educational. Also the explanation plaques were only in French-Google had difficulty translating these. The catapult was nice to see but again just in French and a pity only 1 ball was fired.

We went here on holiday last week as a family of four with children 7 and 9. We absolutely loved it. On arrival my children pointed out the Disc Golf course on the welcome sign which was an unexpected added bonus but unfortunately it wasn't up and running at the time. The castle is incredible. It is clearly a passion project and the love that has been put into restoring the castle is evident but the key to this place is the love of fun that goes with it. There are games everywhere you look, all perfect to enjoy together as a family and all in keeping with the Chateau and surrounds. History is well represented and information is given throughout but weaved superbly with the ability to play as it's taken in. An absolute favourite was the new games trail that follows the story of the fairy Melusine. It was so simple and yet so much fun to walk learn and play in a beautiful setting. The only criticism would be if your French is not at least passable you will struggle to get the full benefit, it could do with some translations to English and German judging by the mix of other nationalities there. We noticed on the website that it was open from 9.30 for the week we were there and if you get similar with your timings I would highly recommend setting an alarm and getting in early. We had an hour of the castle to ourselves and it was frankly a playground for all of us! We have all gone away with the Castle as the highlight of our holiday and would highly recommend anyone spending a day there. It is excellent and incredibly good value for money.

I visited today with my husband who is originally from La Rochelle and our (17 year old) Nephew. Great day out (worth bringing a picnic as there is a lot to do & see - although you can buy drinks/snacks/coffee & the gift shop is nice) you can clearly see lots of effort and dedication has gone into making this visit fun for all ages :). ages.
