L’Île Madame Nature Reserves in Île-d'Aix

    • Île Madame is located at the mouth of the Charente , between Île d'Aix and Île d'Oléron. From Port-des-Barques, you can reach it on foot, at low tide, via the Passe aux Bœufs . It is also possible to go around it by boat at high tide. You will then enjoy a commented excursion and a unique observation point on the island. Isle Madame is essentially composed of a , that is, an area covered by the sea at high tide. The heart of the island is a paradise for birds who come to nest there in peace and to feed there at low tide. You will come across all kinds of wading birds and migratory birds during the season.
