Pertuis d'Antioche Nature Reserves in Île-d'Aix

The Pertuis d'Antioche is a strait formed by the Ile de Ré and the Ile d'Oléron. At the heart of Pertuis is Île d'Aix, Fort Boyard and Île Madame. You can admire it from the top of the Lighthouse of Chassiron or cross it by boat, from Saint-Denis d'Oléron, to reach La Rochelle. It communicates to the north with the Pertuis Breton , on the other side of the Île de Ré, and with the Pertuis de Maumusson , to the south of the Île d'Oléron.
