Located on the Ile d'Aix, this very original lighthouse, consisting of two 25.3m towers, is still in operation.
Red and white in color, it has been signaling to many boaters for over a century the pitfalls located between the Ile d'Oléron and the Ile de Ré.
It is no longer guarded but automated and controlled remotely from the port of La Pallice in La Rochelle
In 2011, the lighthouse was listed as a Historic Monument!
