About

    • It gained notoriety with the first sea baths in 1870. With its retro charm, the city catches the eye with beautiful villas along its seafront, typical of Belle Epoque seaside architecture. It is a very sunny seaside resort, with a huge beach and a casino. Mussel and oyster farming is practiced on Boucholeurs beach. To the south, around a large lagoon, you can discover the Yves Marsh Nature Reserve, with its remarkable biodiversity.

Several events take place every year in Châteillaillon-Plage. Come and discover the kite festival (taking place on the Easter weekend) which brings together all those passionate about these flying objects that fascinate young and old alike.

Also discover the communal festival "Chatel en Fête" where all the inhabitants gather around a theme that can be found on the market stalls, in the streets and in the parades.

Finally, the Boucholeurs festival takes place in August and offers all participants the opportunity to discover its local heritage, particularly oyster and shellfish. The games of yesteryear are also in the spotlight and seafood tastings await the most gourmets. All of these festivities give a very good overview of the activities and heritage of Charente in these seaside regions.
