Island of Ré Sauniers Cooperative Artisanal salt and salt marshes on the Île de Ré

A key player in the economic life of Île de Ré, the Salt Producers' Cooperative of Île de Ré now brings together 70 salt producers and employs 21 people. It strives to be a high-quality company, both commercially and environmentally, as evidenced by its 400 photovoltaic panels.

The Cooperative also supports the installation of new salt workers who are heirs to ancestral know-how, guaranteeing you a unique local salt harvested by hand.

In rhythm with the seasons, the work of the salt worker contributes to the maintenance and protection of a remarkable space: the salt marshes, where many species of birds nest amidst a particularly adapted flora.
