Ronce-les-Bains is a charming seaside resort at the northern tip of the Arvert peninsula. Its history is closely linked to the rise of sea bathing in the 19th century, transforming a wild dune landscape into a popular destination.

An exceptional natural setting

Ronce-les-Bains is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and the Seudre estuary, offering a diversity of landscapes. It is the gateway to the vast Forêt domaniale de la Coubre, an immense pine forest of nearly 5,000 hectares which extends to the La Coubre lighthouse and beyond, protecting the coastline from erosion. This forest is a true green lung, ideal for hiking, horse riding, and cycling thanks to numerous cycle paths, including part of the Vélodyssée.

Beaches for all tastes

Ronce-les-Bains offers a wide variety of fine sandy beaches, ideal for swimming and water activities.

• Plage de la Cèpe and Plage du Mus de Loup : quieter and more family-friendly, they are perfect for swimming with young children at high tide, as the water is warmer and shallower. You can also go sailing or paddleboarding there.
• The Wild Coast (including Pointe Espagnole, La Bouverie, Vieux Phare, Phare de La Coubre): swept by more powerful rollers, it is a renowned spot for surfing, bodyboarding and kitesurfing enthusiasts. It is important to be careful there because of the currents.
