    • AU CHABROT – LA ROCHELLE – SAINT-NICOLAS DISTRICT

Au Chabrot is located in La Rochelle, in the vibrant Saint-Nicolas district, just steps from the Old Port. Situated on Rue Saint-Nicolas, the establishment combines a restaurant and gourmet grocery store in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Au Chabrot La Rochelle is open year-round, with a menu that changes with the seasons and the chef's inspiration.

A friendly place open all year round

Throughout the year, Au Chabrot welcomes both locals and tourists in a simple and friendly atmosphere. From October to February, the menu features Savoyard specialties. Raclette, tartiflette, and reblochonade take center stage, offered in generous portions designed for sharing around the table.

When warmer weather returns, the establishment remains open and adapts its offerings, while maintaining its core principles: high-quality, carefully selected products and a refined yet uncomplicated approach to cuisine. This flexibility allows Au Chabrot La Rochelle to remain a vibrant destination year-round, true to its identity.

An epicurean grocery store to prolong the pleasure

Next to the restaurant, Au Chabrot offers a grocery store open year-round. It features a selection of cheeses and cured meats, as well as products related to mountain cuisine. This shop is perfect for preparing a convivial meal or picking up a few items to enjoy at home.

The products offered are carefully selected by experts from Haute-Savoie, which is reflected in the consistency and quality of the selection. The grocery store naturally complements the restaurant's business and is an integral part of the establishment's identity.

A warm welcome and sound advice

At Au Chabrot, Kathleen and José provide a warm and friendly welcome. Their extensive knowledge of the products allows them to advise customers, whether it's choosing a dish, creating a platter, or discovering a specialty. Conversation is at the heart of the experience, in a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere.

The establishment also offers private hire on request, particularly for group meals, moments with friends or events to be organised in a central setting, easily accessible in La Rochelle.

Located on Rue Saint-Nicolas, Au Chabrot La Rochelle enjoys a lively atmosphere, characterized by independent shops, restaurants, and cafes. Excellent! A wonderful discovery. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I tried the reblochonade, it was delicious and generous. All served with good wines in a very pleasant atmosphere. The desserts are homemade and a real treat. The service is top-notch. Kudos to the owners and thank you again for your hospitality! It makes all the difference. If you're looking for an authentic, welcoming place with great food, you've come to the right place!

A disastrous and brief experience. Arrived at 12:30 for lunch, the restaurant was empty except for children's belongings and toys scattered on a table. Our arrival seemed to be a problem given the frosty reception we received. We had barely sat down when someone changed a diaper right in the middle of the restaurant... it was difficult to eat in a restaurant filled with the smell. We left just as quickly, without a word from the owner. A truly dreadful experience. Edit in response to this charming owner: apparently your only response is to insult people, what a lovely mentality. Your welcome was deplorable, and it had nothing to do with the presence of children. Furthermore, this child wasn't a customer's child since your dining room was empty, but rather your own family's, judging by the number of toys scattered about. Good for you if you don't mind eating with such a smell. Politeness would have dictated an apology. After reading your response, I don't regret my decision to leave.
