Phare de Chassiron Lighthouses in Saint-Denis-d'Oléron

Built in 1836, the Chassiron lighthouse was originally white, we added 3 black bands in 1926 to make it more visible by day and to differentiate it from its neighbor on the Ile de Ré, the lighthouse of whales.

Opening:

Open every day except December 25 and January 1.
April-May-June and September: 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
July-August: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
October to March: 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
